I've already asked Santa for a second-hand stand mixer (and a
replacement, 2nd hand food processor for feast purposes, as I've killed
off my old one-- sad as I never used it except for SCA food service).
But, completely unrelated, what I want most of all is for all my friends
and relations in the SCA to get from Santa copies of _The Artifice of
Beauty_ by Sally Pointer.
If you have any interest at all in historic cosmetics or perfumes... get
it. Buy it for your SOs, your apprenti, etc. For the first half of the
book, I had decided that I should give up teaching about perfumes and
personal use of herbs in period entirely and just hand out copies of
this book. I'm a little better now, but anything that includes redacted
recipes and a laid-out process for redacting recipes for COSMETICS and
PERFUMES from the very earliest period through the Victorian one, plus a
section on major historic perfume/cosmetic ingredients, you want...
