[Sca-cooks] So, here's an odd question...

I don't recall that we ever left out food. Patrick used to
email Santa and receive complicated replies with music and flashing bits.
(This was 14-15 years ago before things like Santa.com. I know it
took James a long time to get it all programmed so it would look right.)
Also when he was very small,
we were out east in Maryland at Christmas. We took him to White Flint
Mall to see Santa. We figured that it would be crowded with lines and
hours of waiting. No such thing. No crowds, no lines. Santa was just
standing
around and he talked to Patrick for a very long time. Of course what
immediately
happened was that Patrick told him that ALL he wanted for Christmas
was a hard marble game. As we were leaving, Santa reached in a bag and
gave Patrick
a toy in a tube with rolling balls that kept him amused and let him be
able to say
that Santa had given it to him. Top marks. Great experience.
James and I finally deduced that the hard marble game was one of those
construction
sets with tubes and marbles, and of course we hadn't purchased one of
those for him.
I think James took Patrick to eat while I went through all the toy
stores in the mall
until I found one.
So in the end, Santa came through and the toy was there on Christmas
morning.
