I had a batch of gingerbred turn out like that... the recipe said to
boil the honey. Somehow I managed to take it to the hard-crack stage, and once
the crumbs were mixed in and it cooled in the loaf pan, even a frozen food
saw wouldn't dent it. And it smelled good, too, darn it.
