Thank you! Those scissors sound like a wonderful idea. I'll have to  
try to remember to bring along a pair the next time I go to one of  
the Asian buffets that tend to have the seafood in the shells. Not  
really needed for the mussels on the half-shell, though. :-)

I've found the nutcrackers to be only so-so effective, especially on  
the King Crab, and have usually resorted to trying slit open the legs  
or claws with a table knife, fingernail or crab? pick.
