best corned beef i ever had was at a B and B in ranalagh
(sp) just on the edge of dublin.
we were doing ireland and england for a month beween
december 12 and january 12. when the proprietess went to
a christmas party, she laid out a plate of 'spiced beef',
brown bread and pickles for us to munch on, turning the
house over to us (complete with sweet golden retriever),
as they were staying the night at the party.
it was delicious. we had christmas dinner with the family
as well. her B and B advertised her as a trained chef,
and man, could she cook.
tho she never quite understood our preference for coffee,
toast and jam to the full irish breakfast we could have
had every a.m.
unfortunately, her B and B is no longer listed. she was
at the time we were there thinking of getting out of the
biz in the next few years. guess she did.
