Basically, the dried fruit you might normally associate with  
fruitcake, mostly currants and mixed candied citron and/or other  
citrus peel, moistened and mixed with melted butter, sugar, and  
spices, used as a filling for little round pies/sandwiches made of  
puff pastry.
