The quality is good and Roy has been cordial and went out of his way
to make sure I had the stone in time for my Gulf Wars class.
-----

Roy had shipped the 50 lbs of stone to me without waiting for my
check to get there because I was needing the stone for my Gulf Wars
classes and we weren't sure if it would get to me in time if he
waited for my check to get there. Then because of an address error
on my part, it took a week or two for the letter to get returned
to me, so I could then find out the problem, correct it and send
the check to the right address. So, I would recommend him and
encourage you to look at what he carries.

What I tell my students is that for molds you do not need pretty. It
doesn't matter what color stone you have. What is much more important
is having a fine grained stone without hard spots or holes and without
cracks.

For class, I cut my stone into blocks using an abrasive blade mounted
into an electic miter saw. You can also cut soapstone with any
wood saw. There is no need to pay the rock shop $5 per cut as I did
for the first soapstone I bought.
