Oh it's a lovely pan designed to make spherical pancakes.  Norwegian  or 
Swedish, I think.  My grandmother left me hers.  Cast iron, flat on  top with deep 
wells arranged around the edge and in the center.  Heat it,  dab with butter 
and pour in batter.  You can add bits of fruit or jelly if  you like and when 
the batter has set around the edge you turn them over, forming  a ball.
 
Sprinkle with 10x sugar and enjoy. Thanks Grandma.
