Be *extremely* skeptical of any advice with phrases like "the experts are wrong" -- it always comes from people who are anything but -- or "moderation" or "balanced" -- what's 'moderate' or 'balanced' for you may be very different than what is 'moderate' or 'balanced' for someone else.

Check with your health-care professional. Your individual diabetes may result in difference tolerances for caffeine, sugar, alcohol, bread, simple carbohydrates, etc.

Diabetics have different insulin problems and so your 'balanced' diet will depend upon what your diagnosis is. What's 'moderate' to someone else may put you in a diabetic coma.

Be careful and be safe. Trust your doctor or find one you do.
