our barony has worked around lousy equipment in a big
enough hall for midwinter for years. our cooks know who
has extra freezer space and we have cooking parties at
each others homes at times. we know what might break
down, what will never get fixed and how we can get around
it. we have had a number of site search committees with no
better venue for numbers or amenities. and the state
doesn't have the money to pump into the buildings at the
fairgrounds.

it's a love hate relationship. and a lot of pre-cooking.
