Nope...not a 'faith' at all...knowledge gained from experience, observation and repeatable testing. You 'faithers' can't put faith above wisdom and get away with it, not from me anyway.

I'm curious, however, to know what you define to be 'evidence of divine intervention'...(I can pretty much guess what your answer will be :) ).

We learn from experimenting, critical analysis, speculation, testing, validation, open discussion, challenging our once-treasured beliefs, trying out new ideas and viewpoints, looking at trends, looking for connections -- and that's in cooking! Why shouldn't the same ideas apply to religion?

When shall it be said in any country of the world, my poor are happy; neither ignorance or distress is to be found among them; my jails are empty of prisoners, my streets of beggars; the aged are not in want, the taxes not oppressive; the rational world is my friend because I am friend of its happiness; when these things can be said, then may that country boast of its constitution and government.

which is a type of faith in its own right :). seriously, I'd rather have faith that
there is a divine spirit that looks out for me and cares what happens to me than to
have faith that there isnt.

each of us gets to stick to our own doctrine and its all good :)

she does. and how cool is that? :)
