AFAIK, there is no connection between the Katz's Deli in NY and the ones in 
Austin and Houston other than the name.  The ones in Texas are definitely 
not Kosher.  They and Marc Katz, the founder, are considered a classic small 
business case study in establishing, marketing and growing a small business. 
They also represent a classic case of the family business feud.
