It ain't Kosher, but rightness depends on how strictly you follow the 
dietary laws.

One of my friends might find it offensive.  Another would just shrug (or as 
he put it, "How can we be God's Chosen People, and be denied bacon.")

For myself, I plead sloppiness in a time crunch.
