One can assume (dangerous stuff ... is that) that breakfast for the common folk was a pretty simple affair, differed from person to person, varied to suit the day and the proposed activities ... in the same way that breakfast for modern common folk is pretty simple, differs from person to person and varies, and suits the day and proposed activities.

Folks is folks.

The question at hand seems to be ... what would the lord of the manor have served up for an "occasion" breakfast ... as the question is about a 'breakfast feast' in the planning.
