AND

I have a question

How do you spell that? I have seen Hanukah and Chanukah and several other
variations ... what is the preferred and what is the difference??

Cheers

Whether the writer is using a phonetic translation of the Hebrew word
(Hanukkah) or the technical translation (Chanukah). The actual first letter
is "chet', which is pronounced like an aspirated "K", sort of a "khh" sound.
There is no corresponding sound in English, so some soften it to a simple
"H", others bring in the "k". Just don't pronounce it like the "ch" in
"chirp".

Not Jewish, but I know some stuff ;)
