[Sca-cooks] Gilded gingerbread query

Not going into serious cooking sources, but didnn't Mary Poppins often stop 
at a local bakery and pick up gingerbread decorated with removable gilt 
stars?  I't's been too many years since I read it last, so memory may be 
faulty.
