Gunthar:

There are two Giant Eagle stores about equadistant from Pennsic.

To get to the one in New Castle, turn right out of Pennsic on US-244 and then take the bypass towardsYoungstown/Sharon... once you get on the bypass (US-60, I think), take the first exit (Washington Street) and bear off to the left, going back over the overpass. It will be in a mall on your right just past the High School.

To get to the one in Butler, go left out of Pennsic on US-244 and get off at the Lyndora exit (can only go to your right). Go through the stop-light and continue towards Lowe's and Home Depot, but before you get to them, the Giant Eagle will be on your left.

Hint, go to Google maps, and type in Giant Eagle and either Butler or New Castle, and you will get great maps to them.

Both stores are used to seeing all of us in garb, so don't be shy about wearing it if already in it. They will accept out-of-town checks, but prefer cash or credit cards, I think. Both stores have some great breads and fresh veggies and fruits... and they often even lay in some really great decorated cakes for the SCA <grin>.

I don't know yet what I will be bringing... I will be doing meetings up to just before I drop by, so maybe something on the fly that will keep.

Potluck on Monday?

Elizabeth and I are planning on heading into town to
the Golden Eagle (we need directions there, btw) and
picking up a couple of boneless legs of lamb and a
couple of chickens. The lamb will be spun over the
fire and the chickens either spun or roasted in a
dutch oven. We'll probably also bring some drink syrups
from my class.

Anyone have a thought on what they are bringing?
