Alright, if we're going to boast of our FreeCycle scores, i got a
complete set of the Time-Life World of Food (or whatever it is) -
both the hardcover books with the glossy photos and the spiral bound

It's rather weird reading them. They were written in the late 1960s
and it's clear that their intended audience may not get around
(armchair gourmets?).

The writing in the Southern and Creole-&-Cajun (which they always
write "Acadian") books is rather florid (what else would one expect,
they were both written by natives who had been living in Europe for a
couple decades). But i have to say, those photos make one's mouth

I'll be plunging into the Northern Europe books soon...
Urtatim (that's err-tah-TEEM)
the persona formerly known as Anahita

(yeah, yeah, Urtatim really wouldn't know about such things)
