Ah! Ellis Island. My grandfather came through in 1921. They asked him  
his name.
Rachmeil Dubin  (with the Hebrew het in the middle) he replies......  
Ok, says the official... you are now Rubin Dubin.
.....But he was always zaydeh to me!
