rats!!!! i missed them!!!

there were about 5 or 6 food entries out of 35 entries,
not to mention aldyth's research paper on bread, one of
two research papers submitted, so i think food was very
well represented.

i got to judge side dishes, and there was a very nice
venison flummery presented by gwen cat's student adam, and
some surprising pickled melon w/ spices. the canteloupe
w/ clove, cinnamon and long pepper was divine (and spicy).

after those, i went on to judge two performance pieces
(japanese poetry and commedia del arte), a rune scroll and
a 10th century book w/ leather cover. it was an
interesting day. 8)
