My favorite way to slice strawberries is a pastry blender, the type with flat blades, not wires. They are sharp enough to cut the berries, but wont cut your fingers.   Cut off the leaves and push one after another thru the blades. .  My mom used to put up 30 lbs of strawberries or more each spring,
