[Sca-cooks] Why *X* and not *Y*?

I ended up going to a *marvelous* Indian restaurant in Dublin (Ireland) when
I was there in 2002. More or less by chance (the restaurant, not the
visit). I was exhausted and in an unfamiliar city in an unfamiliar country
(and a capital city at that), and really didn't feel confident wandering too
far afield in search of a restaurant....and this place was next door to my
hotel. Some of the best food I've ever had in my life! (I went back. I
still miss it.....*happy sigh*)
My weird food quirks are pretty much just my personal weirdnesses. I grew
up with parents who were, in some ways, actually more adventurous than I
(they loved things like pickled herring and raw oysters, neither of which I
have any desire to try. Ever.). My life experiences have brought me more
culinary diversity than what they experienced, but I know I would have
enjoyed sharing new tastes with both of them. Sushi and lebanese food (ma!
I ate raw meat!) and various mediterranean cuisines and Thai food and all
the wealth of foods and flavors I've found in the SCA....
