Well, they're at least smart enough to know that when the aquarium lid goes
up, in goes the food! And they swim to the top to grab a few pieces before
the fish eat it all. But then, almost every animal kept in captivity is able
to do this, so it might not be such a good measure of intelligence :-)
These are not the kind we eat, by the way. The shrimp we buy at the grocery
store are omnivorous, like lobster, and will eat each other (and your fish
too if they can lay their pincers on them) in an aquarium.
