Yes, but you were preparing food at home, for two people, in a
controlled environment. The washing-the-board-between-ingredients
thing is irrelevant for home use most of the times, because everything
will end up in the same pot very quickly. The recommendation was for
cooking feasts or even for commercial use, where cut carrots might sit
on the counter before going in the soup (thus you don't want raw
chicken transfer on them), and you might kill someone from stirring
the leek soup with the spoon used for stirring the almond milk.
