In some ways it is better for diabetics, but they do need to consider  
the carbohydrates that are in raisins.  Diabetics have altered  
carbohydrate metabolism, it's not just sugar they have to watch for.  
Corn on the cob is high in carbs and each summer I end up teaching a  
number of  diabetics that corn and other high carb foods need to be  
eaten in strict moderation to maintain good control. Raisins are also  
high in carbohydrates.
