Thank you! I hadn't realized there were more observant Jews in the SCA.

Good news is that (almost) everything done in the SCA can be done by  
Jews, just in a different way sometimes. One can bring one's own food  
and be off-board at feasts; one can have hot foods over Sabbath. After  
all, Jews camped in the desert for 40 years after leaving Egypt,  
according to our understanding of history. If they could make Period  
Shabbat, so can we!
