Subjected to heat, alcohol cooks out almost entirely. In this recipe, the rum is basically an extract, by the time the heat gets through with it. Not enough of it is gone to satisfy the requirements of halal (Muslim dietary practice), but for a 'condition' this ought to be fine. Ask your doctor for confirmation, please, I am not a medical professional.
