Others have pretty much covered my thoughts, except for an important
(to me) answer to #2.

Feasts where many or all dishes have the same ingredient, be it
onions, eggs, cinnamon, sugar, or something else.  This is important
both for variety of flavor, for taste preferences, and for medical
issues.
