>Our sources for non-European names in general is limited,
especially with regard to minority populations, which a Jewish person in the
Middle East would be.  I know one person who has a Jewish Khazar persona
and, if he agrees, I can put you in touch with him.

I, also, have a passed Khazar name.

I initally intended to amend my original (passed) Russian name to be specifically Jewish, but ran into *tremendous* difficulty getting the name documented with a herald at Pennsic who was insurmountably unhelpful and rude, unfortunately.

I gave up eventually and switched to researching a Khazar/Russian name, and we got it documented in about 15 minutes. The herald who helped me was Paul Wickendom of Thanet, and I can't recommend him enough -- he's a truly patient, knowledgable gentleman. He can be contacted via the Slavic Interest Group.

It's been about 15 years or so since that experience, so I truly hope there are more resources available now for documenting Eastern European and Central Asian names, and I wish you luck!! :)
