Last night I asked my wife, who spent a year in Italy during college
and still remembers quite a bit of the language about the discussions
we've been having.
Ingredient alla something is correct, with alla meaning "in the style
of" ie pasta alla carbonara.
Ingredient something is the shorthand ie pasta carbonara.
Master A was right scampo is the singular of scampi.
Putting the two together and asking if Scampi alla scampi was correct
will get me a dirty look and something lobbed at me.
