[Sca-cooks] Potluck was "Bad" language

Pot luck goes back to the luck of the pot, meaning one eats whatever
is being cooked in the pot. It is, i think, at least 17th century. And  
it could be that
EEBO has it back even earlier.

I'll look it up when I get back and have my own computer.
