my mother used to make a fish soup very much like chicken
paprikash. any given white fish, sauted minced onions,
water, bay, thyme made into stock then pull fish off bones
(if not filleted). then she would add diced potatoes and
paprika (plain ole hungarian) and simmer, then add some
sour cream to finish it off.
long way around the horn, i don't see why some of those
ingredients couldn't be slathered on the fish, especially
filleted.
i really like a quick brush of hoisin sauce on my fish
(pan cooked or baked) but it might have too much sugar for
you. soy/ginger/garlic are good too.
i love fish... i really miss it out here in albuquerque,
after taking it for granted in baltimore.
