[Sca-cooks] Elizabethan era stillroom preserves

Here's a funny one. I was looking over some descriptions for
certain imported preserves.
This one caught my eye:
"Pure fruit flavourings and cane sugar go into these uniquely flavoured 
traditional preserves, made from Elizabethan era stillroom recipes, with 
no artificial ingredients. 12 oz."

All well and good and I thought:
However this product was for Scotch Bonnet Chilli Pepper Preserves 
described as:
"A unique sweet and spicy treat. Ingredients: Sugar, Onions, Water, 
Scotch Bonnet Chillie Peppers, fruit pectin and citric acid."

Funny. I don't recall ever  seeing Plat or Murrell  call for Scotch  
Bonnet Peppers.
