[Sca-cooks] Nutmeg question

Greetings
The questions about nutmeg has me a bit concerned.
One of our favorite bundt cakes is a wine cake that
calls for a tablespoon of nutmeg.  When I first saw
the ingredients I thought it was a misprint, however
I went ahead with that amount.  It turns out quite
tasty but is a tablespoonful a reasonably safe amount?
Most all of the different wines I've used taste well
with nutmeg but I'd like to experiment with other spices.
Any suggestions?  I like to use different wines made by
our fine artisans.
