It's used to colour food. And is also a nice fabric dye. You can get
ranges of yellow, peach and fuchsia, but not the same colours on silk
and cotton/linen, because there are two distinct dyes in safflower.
www.reconstructinghistory.com had a nice tutorial about safflower dyeing.
