?Cultural identity is a very slippery subject.  The peoples of the North 
American Arctic, to include Greenland, fall into the larger population group 
known as "circumpolar peoples".  This includes the native peoples of Siberia 
and Scandinavia (Sami aka Lapps).  I suspect that the ulu in some form is 
found in use by the native people in western Siberia but not by the Sami. 
Does anyone know its cultural range?
