Ooooh, fried chicken sounds very good-and it is turning into a rare
treat for me, since Fried Foods have to go away.
Sweet Potatoes get Baked, casseroled and Candied, here. Pies are a
rarity.
New Year's Eve dinner will be a Schnitzel (excuse the spelling) IF I
can find a recipe in time. I found two beautiful pork steaks that had
been put through the tenderizer. I'm thinking that those, with fried
apples and cabbage, and baked Idaho potatoes, should make a nice
evening meal.

Well I am even further south than you are down here in south west
Georgia<;^}, I
fixed us some chicken with dumplings and some pan fried chicken last
night-won't
last till New Years though. I do plan to do the traditional black eyed
peas,
greens with salt meat & corn bread, but will add some cheese grits with
bacon &
onion as my part of the meal. I think my daughter is going to do
another pot
roast in her slow cooker or we may just grill a couple of steaks out on
the
grill.
Now on the subject of sweet potatos we are more likely to do a pie or
casserole
than candied.

My preference is to use the term 'First Generation' or, Cousins (Dad's
side of
the family, back when this land was still Territory)
As the years roll by, and the Political Correctness takes its cycles,
things
change. One of these days, hopefully, people will stop this eggshell
walking and
really start talking to each other.
In the meantime, can we get back to talking about Food?
I am fixing Black-eyed peas, Collard Greens and candied Sweet Potatos
for New
Year's day. The meat portion of the day is up in the air. We are tired
of
Turkey, and Ham. Any suggestions that won't break the bank?
Thanks!
