I don't know how it would work to assist with your condition but we have a
bottle of it in the house all the time.  Sadly we don't use it as much as we
should because it usually ends up in pomegranate martinis!  Be careful - it
can sometimes ferment - we had a bottle with a cork and couldn't figure out
why the cork was always popping out!  I have mixed it with seltzer for a
nice drink.

If you have an Asian market near you you might find some less expensive
brands of pomegranate juice.  We buy ours at Costco (the Sam's by us
closed).
