General rule of thumb for publishers: Unless you can demonstrate
that the image or
story is not covered by copyright; or you have purchased or been
granted publishing
rights; you don't use it.
The son must find the time, or have an agent or publisher or friend
with publishing
experience take the time to obtain all necessary permissions in
writing. Would the
son want the book to be surrounded by controversy or lawsuits as part
of the memorial?
