I would advise that it would be best to contact the author of the recipe and get 
permission. Some publications do give certain permissions for republication, 
such as Dover does for their clip-art, with certain restrictions. I just put a 
copyright & disclaimer notice on my own website, thinking it would be a good 
idea. I looked up some other websites and came up with the following text:

"This website and its original content (Recipes, Articles & Class Handouts) are 
copyright of Cassandra Baldassano - © Copyright MMX. All rights reserved.
Permission to reproduce and/or distribute print copies of these pages is hereby 
granted for scholarly, private and non-profit purposes only, except where noted.

At the Caidan Brewers Guild meeting yesterday, someone asked me about the 
legalities surrounding republishing a recipe, even on a free social medium.  I 
answered, "for the love of God I do not know how to answer this question, due to 
the current Cooks Source legal brangle.  Ask me next week."

So I hope that someone here will keep us apprised.  I am VERY interested in an 
answer to this question.
