I find that almond flavorings (extracts, etc) vary a lot in intensity.
King Arthur Flour sells Boyajian natural almond extract.
They also sell Sonoma Syrup Company, "a small California company
producing handcrafted American artisan extracts. No preservatives,
artificial colors, artificial flavors, or sugar. High-quality blend of
flavorful oil of bitter almond, alcohol, and water. 8 ounces 16.95
You can also buy Bitter Almond Oil from King Arthur which I have
always found to be more intense. Adding it to certain items really
creates an almond taste in the finished product. Lorann Oils in
Michigan makes it, but it's not listed on their webpage. LorAnn
actually make a number of almond products, including oils, emulsions,
almond natural, etc. There's also a Dr. Oetker Bitter -Almond
Flavoring Essence. And of course bitter almond is not made with
almonds any longer but that's another story.
