[Sca-cooks] Wood Barrels

I understand that there is a slight genetic difference between the Old
World and New World trees.
There are quite a few different Oak trees, as well-everything from
Mossy Oak to Pin Oak to Water Oak. It just depends on the leaf shape,
places they grow best and the acorn size. <grin> And that is just in
North America.
Trees-it is an interesting subject, because they did have their
influence on Europe. Consider what happened to Iceland....
It once had forests. Really.

It seems that it would be European chestnut (is there such a variety?)
Also the
chestnut one could be oak (which it probably will be because of ease).

American Chestnut. This tree almost died out decades ago because of a
Blight. It
is slowly being brought back by the American Chestnut Association, by
seeking
out the remaining Chestnut trees and breeding a tree that is resistant
to the
Blight.
