[Sca-cooks] testing for lead in pottery & pewter

A quick google search shows bunches of kits meant for home use,
specificially to test toys, ceramics, etc. The ones I saw were about $12 for
8 tests, or in bulk (100 tests for about $50). I am told you can find them
at home depot or the like.

I have been reading a bit of this thread and am curious.  Reading on the
lead test swabs seem to give 1 or two tests (I guess you can use it a second
time if the first time is not positive?)  but they seem to be rather
expensive and bor the building trade?
