[Sca-cooks] Cheese/Onion Sandwiches and Firemen

Earlier in the discussion some one mentioned Firemen eating Cheese/onion sandwiches. Is there any more information or details about that tidbit of history?

Remember, I like using two kinds of cheese. So I slice my mushrooms 
(fresh) relatively thick (no more than 1/4", but not much less) and make 
sure there's room for the cheese to melt between the slices and help 
hold the sandwich together. A fine art I have perfected over the years (G).
