Okay, so it's a typo, a lack of a comma between "salt" and "trenchers." I rather like the idea of making salt-cellars out of bread dough, especially for the occasion. When we use up the salt, we can throw them to the dogs! I may work on this for the next opus anyway. Cheers, Selene Colfox
