Someone listed a cranberry blackberry relish. Recipe please?
I grew up adoring cranberry orange relish, but its offlimits now.

Thank you.

It's that time of year again, so here's "a pretty amazing video of
William Shatner ? called "Eat, Fry, Love" ? created for State Farm
Insurance promoting safe turkey frying this holiday season.

Just a week? My sister arrived yesterday and my sister in law arrives on
Saturday with her fiance. We've already started! I made osso buco with
mushroom risotto yesterday. I pickled a tongue and we've been snacking on
it and had it in sandwiches for dinner tonight. Starting on Sunday we've
got meals every day, mostly restaurants my sister in law wants to go to
(she lives in Paris and misses local stuff) including dim sum, Mexican and
Italian.

Thanksgiving itself will see the usual turkey, dressing (not stuffed),
gravy (already made), garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. This year
we'll add butternut squash soup, some other vegetable, and a boneless rib
eye roast. Of course pecan and pumpkin pie - I think we'll try the pumpkin
pie with a graham cracker crust (Bobby Flay did that on a throwdown and he
won). Guess it's kind of boring and every day for some of you - I'm sure
some of you will be doing all sorts of out of the box stuff. Whatever you
do I hope you all have a wonderful holiday.

Back east my brother in law has been frying the turkey for over 10 years
now. He doesn't inject it or rub it with anything and it's always
delicious.

I imagine that it's done already.

Sorry, couldn't resist. ;-)

I'm going to my aunt and uncle's house. They usually have a
traditional turkey dinner, though they play around with recipes for
the side dishes -- various kinds of cranberry relish, roasted root
veggies, etc. My role every year is to bring the rolls -- pumpkin
dinner rolls, lightly seasoned with pie spices.

Well, I'm having severe family weirdness, so my usual Molly
Weasley-style holidaying is not happening this year, which is seriously
discombobulating for me. Currently the plan is Cornish hens for James
and it, probably a wild rice pilaf, some veg, some wine. Maybe I'll make
a pie. I don't know. First time in years I won't be going all out.

Because of spam being sent to the list from one particular address, i have
not gotten digests 12, 15, 20, & 22.

I have reconstructed them, minus the preserved pressed meat product. But i'd
be happier if the spamming address ("James") was unsubbed or something so i
could get the real digests, and everybody else wasn't getting all that salt
and fat.

We will be going to a friend's house and there appears to be a pretty wild
collection of
dishes being brought. We will be bringing cornbread dressing, low-calorie
pumpkin
custard, dark chocolate meringue pie and a dozen pork tamales from a local
Mexican
restaurant.

The day after our host's mother will be having "Latka-fest".

When we come back, surgery recovery willing, I'll make us a smaller
Thanksgiving Day
dinner using turkey pieces roasted over vegetables. The vegetables then go
into making
the gravy. Mashed potatoes. Boiled turnips. Homemade cranberry relish.
etc...

We're going to my aunt's house, I am bringing a mince pie for her (I might
actually make my own, this year, we shall see) and possibly an apple pie,
and the pumpkin pie that I will get on Tuesday from work (Baker's Square,
it's not horrible pie). There will be turkey, stuffing (which better not
have raisins in it this year), hopefully my cousin's corn pudding, my
other cousin's pecan pie, and of course the Frank G. Johnson Memorial Can
of Peas on the table.
