[Sca-cooks] To cat or not to cat

One of my favorite books is "Unpalatable Cuisine" by Calvin Schwabe.
There are recipes to cook and eat beetles, caterpillars, crickets and
locusts (Vietnam), Armadillo, Cajun Muskrat, Opposum, Mountain
Oysters, Squab, Squirrel, Terrapin (US), Dog (Philippines), Lamprey,
Horse (Italy).
Anf if you read the anthropologist Marvin Harris "Good to Eat" he
explains very well documented why do we have food taboos, why the
Moslem and the Arabs don't eat pigs or why in several countries in
Europe and in the US the people stopped eating horses. It was because
the lobby of the big cattle owners made a huge propaganda campaign to
eat cows instead.
