What I find intriguing about that recipe, which I hadn't seen, is:

>Then melt a quarter pound of butter or /samn/ with two pounds of honey 
>and mix them. 

The combination of honey and melted butter poured over pastry shows up in various recipes, but I think this is the first time I've noticed quantities given. I'll try it that way next time I do one of my standard frying pan pastries.
