doesn't look like the American "streaky" bacon I'm used to.
Irish bacon is quite different from what we have here in the states, streaky bacon.  When cooking, you can pretty much substitute a very lightly, very very lightly, smoked piece of ham in a traditional Irish recipe rather than generic bacon.
