We are pleased to announce 

that the following will be held on 25 May

A "Here Be DRAGONS Cake and Subtletie Contest"

When and Where

Turn in by 2 PM in a space designated in the feast hall. Watch for announcements, in case place changes.

Categories

We are looking for entries that reflect

One. A Proper Subtletie  based upon authentic recipes for a medieval or period Renaissance style “cake” (be it fine, ginger, a form of yeasted bread, etc and/or utilizing or decorated with proper subtletie items featuring sugarpaste, marzipan, icing, sugar, etc. These entries of dragons must be submitted with proper recipes, sources, and descriptions. OR create a medieval subtletie of an appropriate Midrealm dragon that is right and proper, even if partially or wholly inedible. Again submitted with proper documentation, sources, and recipe.

Two. A Dragon Cake: creative modern cakes which feature dragons celebrating the Midrealm dragon may be entered in this category. Either a dragon in the form of a cake or a cake topped by a dragon would be eligible.  SO Create dragons in an edible medium. Chocolate, white chocolate, fondant, etc may be used in the modern category.  

Three. Youth Category Lastly, a special Youth category for cakes created by those under age 16.


Joint entries by two people are ok for this contest. You need not be present to win.


This is the day of the Midrealm Crown Tourney on Sunday of the Feast.
The Crown will be held in Indiana. (There is no link or website yet.)
